ATLANTA-- The former principal of Parks Middle School, Christopher Waller, has resigned from the Atlanta Public Schools system.

In a letter to Dr. Eroll Davis dated April 24, Waller said:

Please accept my resignation for personal reasons effective today.

I've enjoyed being a principal in Atlanta Public Schools, working with students, parents, my fellow teachers and administrators. I appreciate the guidance and kindnesses offered me during my time with the system.

In a written report, investigators said Waller instructed other employees to use a heated razor blade to open test booklets.

Waller was scheduled to appear before a tribunal next week to answer to allegations of involvement in the APS cheating scandal.
