More than 6,700,000 passengers passed through the airport in February 2012, compared to about 6,250,000 in February 2011.

"We are pleased to increase our passenger traffic and are striving to grow our international and cargo traffic," airport general manager Louis Miller said in a statement. "While our passenger traffic growth over the last year shows a 7.72 percent increase, due to leap year in 2012 our average daily growth is closer to 4.5 percent."

Total passenger traffic for the year to date also increased, jumping 7.51 percent from 2011 to 2012. International passengers, meanwhile, decreased by 1.46 percent.
