The FBI said they had believed Dareal Demare Williams to be hiding out with friends or relatives in Erie. They said Williams is a known member of the Pittsburgh Jack City Gang.

According to Erie NBC affiliate WICU, Williams turned himself in to Erie police Thursday morning. He is being held in the Erie County Prison; his bail was set at $250,000 cash.

The FBI expects Williams to be extradited to Atlanta next week, according to Atlanta police spokesman John Chafee.

Investigators said Williams is a minor, but has been charged as an adult for his role in the beating.

The Pittsburgh Jack City Gang, which also goes by the name Jack City 1029, is a violent street gang based in Atlanta. Officials said a warrant for Williams' arrest has been issued in connection with the videotaped beating of White, which was posted on the Internet.
