Gen. Larry Platt adds gas prices to his "Pants on the Ground" song.

ATLANTA -- You may remember General Larry Platt from American Idol.  He was an overnight YouTube sensation with his original song "Pants on the Ground." Now Platt is singing a slightly different tune, and using his song to bring attention to rising gas prices. Check it out in the video above.

Platt joined members of the DeKalb County NAACP at a rally to bring down gas prices.

FORECAST: Gas Prices to $3.75 per Gallon by Spring

FIND: Lowest Gas Prices in Metro Atlanta

According to AAA, a gallon of regular gas in Georgia costs $3.03 on average. That's up nearly 40 cents from the same time a year ago.

The NAACP is not calling for boycott, but they want to put pressure on the federal government to implement some type of system of price control. At the same time, they're encouraging the public to drive less to lower demand, and just maybe lower gas prices.
