Local Billiard Champion Killed in Tennessee Wreck

KNOXVILLE, TN -- An accomplished national pool player and champion from Metro Atlanta was killed in a single-vehicle accident on Interstate 40 in Knoxville Sunday.

Wade Crane, 66, of Acworth, owner of Crane's Billiard Academy, was killed when his 2000 Volkswagen struck two retaining walls in I-40 near the West Hills Mall exit Sunday morning. Police said he was taken to the University of Tennessee Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Knoxville police investigators said they believe Crane suffered from a medical condition which may have caused the crash.  Their investigation is continuing.
