ATLANTA -- An early morning power outage at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport forced the cancellation of about three dozen Delta flights on one of the busiest travel days of the year.
It's still not clear what caused the outage affecting half of the gates in the B Concourse from about 5 a.m. until noon.
Delta spokesperson Anthony Black said 90 percent of travelers whose flights were cancelled were rebooked within the first few hours of the outage.
At the height of it, some flights were delayed up to an hour while others were not impacted at all.
Black said flights are returning to normal, but 15 to 20 minute delays should be expected throughout the day.
Travelers are advised to call their airline to check their flight status before heading to the airport.
