ATLANTA -- An ex-Atlanta police officer who was involved in a botched raid that ended in the shooting death of a 92-year-old woman pleaded guilty to federal charges Thursday afternoon.

Arthur Tesler pleaded guilty to federal conspiracy charges. Officials said Tesler's sentencing will be in February 2009. Tesler faces up to 10 years and one month in federal prison.

He was sentenced in May to 4 ½ years in prison on state charges for lying to investigators about the botched drug raid that ended in the death of Kathryn Johnston in her northwest Atlanta home in November 2006.
