A new study confirms what you see everyday driving through rush hour: Atlanta drivers are among the rudest in the nation.
"In the Driver's Seat 2008" was conducted by AutoVantage, a national auto club. That survey found Atlanta is the sixth least courteous city in the country in terms of road rage. Miami ranked number one for the worst road rage, followed by Boston, New York, Baltimore, and Washington, D.C.
Atlanta has steadily declined in the survey. In 2006, it ranked as the fifth most courteous and has been slipping ever since.
The study also showed Atlanta ranked number one is several negative categories: admitting to talking on cell phones daily while driving (35%), admitting to speeding every day (22%), and observing others speeding (73%). Atlanta also claims another dubious distinction: number one for making obscene gestures in traffic.
How do you rank on the road rage scale? Take this test to find out.
