After 25 years at 11Alive, Jerry Carnes is excited to take on the challenge of serving you as Commuter Dude. Just like you, he fights Atlanta traffic, gets frustrated over mistimed lights, and cringes when he careens into a pothole.
Metro Atlanta traffic is notorious, from Villa Rica to Vinings, from Cumming to Conyers, from Newnan to Norcross. You need a voice to make sure our public officials hear your frustrations. Jerry Carnes wants to be that voice!
Here's more information about Jerry:
"I have loved my years in Georgia. I was born at Emory Hospital, married an Atlanta native, bleed Bulldog red and black, and feel pretty sure that I've visited just about every nook and cranny of this big busy city. 11Alive is in my blood. I interned at the station the summer of my junior year at UGA. I was 21-years-old. That's how long 11Alive has been a part of my life.
When the Commuter Dude job opened up, I was immediately interested. I know the importance of your commute to work and back home. I know how important it is as a reporter not just to report news, but to push for change. I feel and hope that I can make a difference, entertain you, and give you a friend to help you through your travels."
