ATLANTA -- Mark Peters enjoys making egg salad, but he doesn't enjoy the amount of time it takes to prepare the eggs.

"It is a pain. You've got to start really early," he says.

That's why he's eager to try to the Big Boss Egg Genie, which promises to make "perfect soft-boiled, medium-boiled or hard-boiled eggs every time."

To use the Egg Genie, simply add water to the bottom of the device, then pierce the egg with a pin that Peters thinks looks dangerous.

"Watch out for that pin there," he says. "I guess you are supposed to poke the egg with that. Don't poke yourself."

After that, put the egg in the cooker and wait. When it is finished, a light comes on.

However, even after 15 minutes of cooking, the eggs are still too warm.

"It's very hot. I wouldn't want to be cracking these open at this particular temperature," Peters says.

Comparable, he boils some eggs the old-fashioned way. Those eggs are quickly cool enough to crack and eat. Some of them are not attractive, but Peters doesn't mind.

"I'd rather eat an ugly egg than starve," he jokes.

But once the eggs in the Egg Genie are ready, they look and taste delicious. Peters says that deviled eggs or something similar, the product is perfect.

He gives the Big Boss Egg Genie two thumbs up.
