ATLANTA -- Kirsten Rush believes that everything can be a learning experience.
The mom of five, who homeschools her children, is always finding fun ways teach them. Today's lesson includes ice cream.
Kirsten and her son Jake are ready to try. They get all their ingredients ready.
First, they add ice, water and salt to the ice chamber and place the freezing bowl on top. Then they need the ice cream ingredients.
After mixing the whipping cream, chocolate syrup and sugar, they're ready to place it in the bowl.
When the lid is in place, Jake begins the fun part -- shaking it! Three minutes of shaking seems like a long time, but he's excited.
The final product looks more like a milkshake than ice cream, but Jake doesn't mind.
Kirsten, however, isn't so impressed -- especially with the amount of ice cream it makes.
"He would want to do this twice to have the amount of ice cream he would like in a serving," she says.
Overall, the Ice Cream Magic has mixed reviews.
"I would give it, as a mom, one thumb up and one thumb down," Kirsten says.
Jake, however, gives it two thumbs up.
