Blayne Alexander joined 11Alive News as a general assignment reporter in March of 2011. You can catch her every weeknight at 11pm.
Blayne moved to the "Big A" from the "Little A," Augusta, GA, where she was a reporter and fill-in anchor at WRDW. Blayne began her career as a production assistant for NBC Nightly News in Washington, DC.
During her time in Washington, Blayne was front and center for the first election and inauguration of President Barack Obama, helping coordinate inauguration coverage from the US Capitol for the five major broadcasting networks.
Four years later, Blayne returned to Washington to cover President Obama's second inauguration for 11Alive, telling stories through the eyes of Atlantans who travelled to witness the event.
Blayne is a member of Junior League of Atlanta, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority and serves on the board of directors for The Scholarship Academy, a non-profit organization that helps low-income college students gain access to financial aid. Blayne is also a Cool Girls volunteer and an active member of Atlanta Association of Black Journalists and National Association of Black Journalists.
A graduate of Duke University, Blayne was born and raised in Oklahoma City. Even though she's not a native Atlantan, Blayne has loved every minute of being an adopted Southern Girl!
She would love to hear from you! You can connect with Blayne on Facebook, follow her on Twitter or send her an email: firstname.lastname@example.org.
