Clayton County Parks and Recreation will be hosting Movies Under the Stars at Flat Shoals Park on Saturday, June 8. They will be playing the movie "Here Comes the Boom" starring Kevin James and Salma Hayek. This is a free event and all are welcome. The movie will begin at dusk.
If you are in the Buckhead area you can stop by the Peachtree Hills Festival of the Arts. It is a two day outdoor local arts and crafts event held on June 8-9. The festival is located at 308 Peachtree Hills Ave NE Atlanta, GA 30305. Admission to the festival is free. New to the event this year is the Living Social Wine Festival in the parking lot of Atlanta Decorative Arts Center. Tickets start at $25 on Sunday and $30 on Saturday for unlimited wine tasting, cheese pairings and live music. Tickets may be purchased online or at the door.
A unique weekend event is Tunes From the Tombs at Historic Oakland Cemetery. This daylong event on Saturday, June 8 features musicians performing in and amongst Oakland's monuments, mausoleums and renowned gardens. Two main stages will host artists, while buskers will perform on distinct vignette stages throughout the cemetery. All genres of music will be represented. Attendees can also take a complimentary guided mini-tour, or have their fortunes read by Robyn Avalon. Tickets are $10 in advance or $15 at the gate.
