ATLANTA -- With warm weather on the horizon, the 11Alive Help Desk has tracked down outdoor weekend activities and wants you to know about them.
SweetWater Brewery is celebrating Earth Day with their 420 Festival. You can join the fun at Historic Candler Park on April 19th from 4:20pm to 11pm, April 20th from noon to 10pm and April 21st from 12:30pm to 7pm. This event is free and open to the public; however, adults who are 21 and over can buy a wrist band for $5. There will be music, food, activities and education about how to make positive changes to the earth. Due to the size of the event, no dogs will be allowed.
The Georgia Renaissance Festival
is in Fairburn on Saturday and Sunday from now until June 2nd. You will find Knights in shining armor in a world full of elaborate treasures. There will be over 150 artisans who perform demonstrations of their crafts, a petting zoo, and even a medieval amusement park. You can buy tickets online here
The 77th Annual Atlanta Dogwood Festival is taking place April 19th from noon to 10pm, April 20th from 10am to 11pm, and April 21st from 10am to 6pm. Hundreds of artist from around the county will sent up tents to show their work. Virtually every kind of art will be represented at the festival. The event is free and open to the public; however, no dogs are allowed.
Downtown Kennesaw will be hosting The Big Shanty Festival this weekend kicking off the festivities Saturday April 20th with a parade starting at 9:30am. Over 70,000 attendees will enjoy the more than 250 booths with arts & crafts, food vendors, merchants, and live entertainment. This year's event offers great entertainment on two stages and a variety of foods to please everyone's palate. This event is free and open to the public.
