ATLANTA -- NeighborWorks America, Wells Fargo Bank and Invest Atlanta have partnered to provide the NeighborhoodLIFT program for Atlanta homebuyers.  The Help Desk wants to make you aware of the program helping eligible homebuyers with down payment assistance.

The NeighborhoodLIFT program provides up to $15,000 of mortgage assistance for homebuyers to use towards the purchase of a new or existing home.

The loan is forgivable after the owner lives in the home for five years.

There are, of course stipulations. Qualified homebuyers may not own a home at the time of purchase and must meet an income limit as set forth by the program.  The home to be purchased must be located in the city of Atlanta.

For those who are interested in the program, getting started takes only a few steps.  The first of which requires homebuyers to attend a NeighborhoodLIFT participating seminar.

Resources for Residents and Communities in Atlanta is the lead support for homebuyers, offering education and resources on becoming a part of NeighborhoodLIFT.
