16-year-old Taylor McKee was one of two people killed in a car accident. She is believed to have been distracted by a text message.

BOWDON -- Family and friends gathered Tuesday to remember 16-year-old Taylor McKee.

McKee was driving along Bullsboro Road in Coweta County when she ran a red light and smashed into another car. The driver of that car, Linda Leflore, and McKee were both killed. McKee's other two passengers were hospitalized.

Friends say McKee was distracted by a text message.

"Taylor was very loving, friendly," said friend Cody Allman. "I just miss her. She was just so special."

"The class of 2013 won't be the same without her," added Levi Anderson, a rising junior at Central High School in Carrollton.

According to the Georgia Highway Patrol, none of the victims were wearing seat-belts. McKee's friends say through the pain, they want to send a message:

"We tell people all the time, wear your seat-belt. And just be careful," Allman said. "That's it, just be careful."
