ATLANTA -- According to Georgia Insurance Commissioner Ralph Hudgens, the recent storms cost the state about $50 million in insured losses.

Hudgens says those losses came after the "violent storms" that blitzed much of the metro area on June 13.

"That figure may rise when all claims are settled," Hudgens said. "My staff will continue to make every effort to work with consumers and help them through this difficult time."
Hudgens said policyholders who still need to file claims caused the violent weather should call his officer at 1-800-656-2298, or in the Metro area at 404-656-2070.
