Another area of t-storms is heading in this direction, coming in again from Alabama as the parade of storms continues. Tonight's rain will be very similar to the wave we had last night with intermittent waves of rain and a few t-storms moving through the area quickly. According to the latest short term NAM (it is called the WRF) the rain will move in in waves and last through the mid morning hours. It is hard to nail down the exact location for the heaviest banding of rain, but as of right now it looks like a large portion of the metro area, including Atlanta, could be some of the heaviest banding. By tomorrow morning parts of the metro area could see around 2-3" of rain in addition to the heavy rain we had last night.
Severe Threat Next Week
I am watching a storm system that will be coming into the area on Monday night into Tuesday morning that could bring a severe threat to N Georgia. This is a pretty powerful system and the way it looks right now the biggest threat will be in S Georgia and Alabama. But we are getting close to spring and the chance is there. Chris and I will keep you posted over the weekend.
