Short term - A trough over Southern Mississippi will allow the chance for showers and thunderstorms, mainly in north and central Georgia. Thunderstorms will be mainly in the afternoon into evening hours. Some isolated severe storms are possible. Temperatures will fall into the upper 80s for highs as we go through the week. Monday night will be mostly cloudy with showers and thunderstorms likely. Lows in the upper 70s. Tuesday will be warm with a high of 93 and a 30% chance for afternoon showers and thunderstorms. Lows around 73. Tuesday night will be similar with afternoon and evening showers and lows in the mid to lower 70s.
Mid range - As we head through the week and into the weekend, the upper level trough will remain in place and a cold front will arrive into the area by Wednesday. This will cause our chance for rain to increase to 40% by midweek. Showers will be in the afternoon when temperatures are at their peak. Wednesday will have a high of 88 with sun, showers and thunderstorms. Low of 73. Thursday will follow in the same suit with a high of 88 and low of 71. Once again a 40% chance of showers and thunderstorms. Your end to the work week will be pleasant with highs around 88 and lows near 71. Still a 40% chance of showers. Saturday our chance of rain will drop to only 30% with a high of 89 and low of 72.
