(WXIA) - Web-based multi-platform app Evernote, used by more than 50 million users was hacked over the weekend, compromising the company's passwords. As a result, and as a proactive measure, Evernote is forcing all users to change their passwords at their next login.
The California-based company said in a blog post Saturday night that a coordinated attempt to access their internal networking structure had occurred, and that while they believe no sensitive information had been accessed, they were forcing a service-wide password reset of all customer accounts.
The company says updates of their apps on all platforms would occur over the next day or so to reflect the updating of their security.
Evernote is an internet note-taking resource that is used on multiple types of Internet capable devices and allows access to data over those multiple platforms.
