ATLANTA (AP) - State Public Service Commissioners Stan Wise and Chuck Eaton have drawn Republican challengers in the upcoming July 31 primary.

Wise has served since 1995 on the five-member commission, which regulates how much consumers pay for utilities. His opponent in the District 5 primary is Pam Davidson, an energy consultant who narrowly lost to incumbent Bubba McDonald in the 2008 District 4 race.

The District 3 race features Chuck Eaton, who has served on the commission since 2006, and Matt Reid, a sales engineer.

Both incumbents have a large lead when it comes to campaign cash.

No Democrat is on the ballot for the District 5 seat. The winner of the District 3 primary will face Democrat Stephen Oppenheimer in November.

All five commissioners are filled through statewide elections.
