ATLANTA, Ga. -- The next time you feel the flu coming on, you may want to think twice before taking some Tamiflu.

Although the medication is touted as a way to prevent influenza complications and hospitalizations, University of Georgia researchers say they didn't really find evidence to support that when they studied clinical trials from several countries.

In fact, the team says people who were given Tamiflu were just as likely to develop pneumonia as those who didn't take it.

The researchers also found people who waited more than 24 hours to seek treatment after experiencing flu symptoms didn't really benefit from the medication.
