GAINESVILLE, Ga. -- A rabid raccoon was found in northern Hall County last week.
The raccoon made contact with two dogs near Bark Camp Road in Gainesville, according to Hall County Animal Services director Mike Ledford.
The raccoon tested positive for rabies Monday at the Georgia Public Health Lab in Decatur.
This is the 21st confirmed case of rabies in Hall County in 2012, Ledford said.
Anyone who sees an animal acting strangely in the area near where the raccoon was found is encouraged to call Hall County Animal Services at 770-531-6830.
