BROOKHAVEN, Ga. -- Brookhaven Police seized more than 60 pounds of marijuana and a loaded gun during a traffic stop Tuesday night.
According to a police press releases, a Brookhaven officer was patrolling on Clairmont Road around 8 p.m. when he spotted a Mercedes Benz with windows in violation of the state's tint law. The officer conducted a traffic stop and noticed a strong smell of marijuana coming from the vehicle.
The officer searched the driver and the car, and found several large bags containing more than 60 pounds of marijuana. Police also seized a loaded handgun, more than $2,200 in cash and several designer handbags.
Thomas Estaba, 43, of Stone Mountain, was arrested on multiple drug and firearm charges. He was taken to the DeKalb County jail and additional charges are pending.
