ATLANTA, Ga. -- Authorities have arrested a man they say is responsible for murdering a Morehouse College student on June 13.

Atlanta Police arrested 20-year-old Nicolas Ross Smith and charged him with the shooting death of 23-year-old Joe Gibbs.
On June 13, authorities discovered a motor vehicle accident and observed that the driver of one of the vehicles had been shot multiple times. The driver, Gibbs, was pronounced dead on the scene. A passenger in the car sustained a gunshot wound to the hand and was transported to Grady Memorial in stable condition.
Witnesses say a third occupant fled the scene and may have possibly been injured during the shooting.
The shooting happened near Parsons Street and Webster Street. Officials say a suspect approached the victims and opened fire before fleeing the scene in another vehicle.
Smith is was transported to the Fulton County Jail.
