ATLANTA -- Police released surveillance video and a sketch on Friday of a suspect they believe is connected with recent East Atlanta robberies.
Meanwhile, friends of murder victim Patrick Cotrona gathered on nearby May Avenue to call for an end to the violence.

Kim Jones of the Atlanta Police Department said victims and witnesses described the robber as a black male, between the ages of 16 - 18, around 5-feet, 9-inches tall and with a thin build. They said he has a medium complexion and very little or no facial hair.
The male was wearing a dark-colored hat with a red 'Polo' logo, a red and blue striped short-sleeved button-down collared shirt, khaki shorts and white high top sneakers.
Surveillance video shows the suspect running toward a dark charcoal grey Dodge Stratus of Intrepid with four doors and a sun roof.
Atlanta police are investigating to see if a series of armed robberies in East Atlanta can be tied to Cotrona's murder.
The 35-year-old was shot and killed on May 25th, on May Avenue in East Atlanta, the same day as the armed robberies. Witnesses say Cotrona was shot after he surrendered his wallet.
On Friday, nearly a week after the murder, friends gathered near the scene of the crime wearing yellow. Cotrona was a Georgia Tech Yellow Jacket.
Atlanta police ask that anyone with information on the armed robbery suspect or Cotrona's murder contact Crime Stoppers at (404) 577-8477.
