LOCUST GROVE, Ga. -- The Henry County Police Department is searching for three people who allegedly used fraudulent gift cards to purchase over $10,000 worth of merchandise in Locust Grove.

Officers, along with Murphy Oil and Discover Card got information that suspects, their names unknown, would use fraudulent gift cards at the Murphy Oil location on Bill Gardner Pkwy.

On Thursday, police set up surveillance. That afternoon, one suspect was caught using a fraudulent gift card to purchase several items.

A bit later, two more suspects made fraudulent purchases at Murphy Oil with additional cards.

Sgt. Joey Smith said police believe the three suspects, who they have in custody, were working together. Police have notified the victims, who they believe own the credit cards used to buy the fraudulent gift cards.

The three suspects are 26-year-old Pierre Scoby of Riverdale, 20-year-old Markcus Williams of Rex, and 21-year-old Taniece Jordan of Forest Park.

While they continue to investigate, Henry County police ask that anyone with more information on these incidents contact Det. Briggs at (770) 288-8206.
