ATLANTA -- The U.S. Marshals announced  the arrest of eight men they believe are members of an Atlanta street gang on Friday.

According to Inspector Gavin Duffy of the USMS, the eight suspects, believed to be part of the Pittsburgh Jack Boys, were taken into custody Friday morning during a targeted operation.

At the arrest, authorites seized guns and drugs from two locations known for drug sale in the Pittsburgh neighborhood. More than two kilos of cocaine, marijuana and two firearms were seized.

Duffy said one of the locations where the arrests took place was outfitted with fortified doors, windows and a complex surveillance system to protect the drug trafficking operation.

The suspects are charged with various crimes ranging from criminal gang participation to aggravated assault and trafficking illicit drugs.

Suspects include: Deon Howard, Jermaine Howard, Timothy Harrell, Nathaniel Howard, John Mitchell, Jonathan Mitchell, Jospeh Jones And Jorge Andrews.

"This is just another example of how effective we are at targeting violent street gangs when working in a joint environment," Chief Inspector Keith Booker said.

"Arrests like these require the combined effort of several agencies working hand in hand to happen. The Counter Gang Unit is designed to use the skill sets of multiple agencies to target and arrest the most dangerous and violent gang members in the Atlanta area."
