Police seek info on Piedmont Road PNC Bank robbery

ATLANTA -- The Atlanta Police Department is asking for information from the public on a robbery that occurred in Buckhead on Wednesday afternoon.

Officer John Chafee reported that a man entered the PNC Bank of 2450 Piedmont Road around 2:40 p.m. The suspect passed a note to the teller demanding $5,000 in cash.

Once the suspect received $3,000, he fled from the bank on foot. Chafee said the man was last seen heading north on Piedmont Road.

The suspect is described as a white male, 35-45 years old, around 5'7"-5'8" in height and about 160 pounds.

At the time of the robbery, the man was dressed in a red sweatshirt, light-colored jeans and a dark skull cap.
