ROCKMART, Ga. -- Rockmart police arrested a man on Tuesday who they believe shot and killed another man on January 8.
Detective David Gowens reported that Demon Eugene Wilson is responsible for the murder of Desmond "Bud" Kinnemore that happened just west of downtown Rockmart.
The victim's body was found in a ditch near Morgan Valley Road and Second Street.

Since it happened, Kinnemore's death was investigated by the Rockmart police, Polk County investigators, Polk County Narcotics Enforcement Team, the GBI and FBI, according to Gowens.
Police charged 33-year-old Wilson with malice murder, felony murder, aggravated assault, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.
Gowens said that Wilson is being held on unrelated charges, and has been involved with an ongoing Federal firearms investigation.
