LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. -- Police say a Lawrenceville man swiped a Krispy Kreme donut truck from a Dacula Exxon gas station and lead officers on a chase across Gwinnett County.
James Freddy Major, 45, took the truck as its driver was making a delivery on Thursday at about 10:45 p.m., police said.
The donut truck ran through several red lights, left the road several times, and eventually hit a mailbox in a Lawrenceville neighborhood where, police say, Major attempted to flee on foot.
An incident report obtained by the Gwinnett paper said, "The suspect ... was apprehended by K9 dog bite and officers on scene placed the suspect under arrest."
Major is charged with three felonies, three misdemeanors and seven more traffic violations, ranging from driving under the influence to theft by taking and driving on the wrong side of the road.
