Police found the bodies of 52-year-old Shivinder Grover, his 47-year-old wife Damanjit Kaur-Grover and their sons, 12-year-old Sartaj Grover and 5-year-old Gurtej Grover in their apartment Monday afternoon. Officers received a welfare check request at around 11:30 a.m. to respond to the family's first-floor home in the gated Aylesbury Farms apartment complex along Abbotts Bridge Road.

The Fulton County Medical Examiner determined Tuesday that the two boys died of sharp force injuries to the neck, while their mom was killed by blunt force head injuries. Shivinder Grover hanged himself. His death was ruled a suicide, while the other three deaths were ruled homicides.

The city of Johns Creek has had a police department for only five years. These are the city's first murders.

"It's pretty bad as you can imagine any time you deal with this," Police Chief Ed Densmore said. "When it involves kids, it's a little bit heart-wrenching."

Neighbor Joseph Olander said the Grovers were a kind and generous family. "They seemed to be a very loving couple and with two small boys seemed like a very normal family," he said.
