Woman shot in Griffin, suspect arrested

GRIFFIN, Ga. -- A woman is expected to make a full recovery after being shot in Spalding County last week.

The victim, whose name was not released, was found shot Jan. 24 in a car in the parking lot of the Super Speed Zone on North Expressway in Griffin.

Investigators learned the woman was shot at a house on nearby 1st Avenue, according to Spalding County Sheriff's Capt. Tony Ranieri.

Police questioned two people in connection with the shooting. One was released without any charges. The other, 27-year-old Michael Phillip Pattillo, was arrested and charged with aggravated assault, firearm possession by a convicted felon and reckless conduct.

Pattillo is being held without bond in the Spalding County Detention Center.
