GAINESVILLE, Ga. -- Hall county investigators need your help to prevent the murder of a young girl from turning into a cold case. 16-year-old Hannah Truelove was stabbed to death last August. Her body was discovered on the banks of Lake Lanier by a neighbor.

"The case is a true tragedy, and naturally we want to close it so we can bring some closure to the family," said Sgt. Stephen Wilbanks of the Hall County Sheriff's Office.

Initially, the case rocked the Gainesville community, and information poured in. But once investigators chased every lead, nothing panned out. Some of the people who were cooperating stopped sharing information.

They're still looking for a silver sedan with damage to its front bumper. The car was seen in the area around the time Truelove was killed, and investigators think the driver might know something about the case.

"We feel confident there are other people out there who probably know something about this crime, and if that's the case we're trying to encourage them to come forward and speak with us," Wilbanks said.
