ATLANTA -- A 24-year-old fugitive has been arrested for an August homicide in Atlanta's Central Park neighborhood.

On Aug. 19, police were called to Merritts Avenue, near North Avenue and Central Park Place, after several reports of shots fired.

Responding officers found 30-year-old Kentavious Ballard lying dead in the grass. Investigators believed he was fatally shot in the chest after an argument between two groups.

The suspect, Jeremy Woods, was arrested in South Carolina on Dec. 20. He was taken to Fulton County Jail Wednesday.
