Police put fugitive Quinton Jones back behind bars

ATLANTA -- The Fulton County Sheriff's Office and U.S. Marshals captured Quinton Jones in Atlanta on Friday afternoon around 1:45 p.m.

According to Tracy Flanagan of the Sheriff's Office, 32-year-old Jones was located with the help of a tip from Crime Stoppers. He was taken into custody without incident on a bench warrant on Swallow Circle.

He is no in jail with multiple offenses including Murder, Felony Murder (3), Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, Criminal Attempt to Commit Armed Robbery, Possession of a Firearm by Convicted Felon (2) and Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony.

Flanagan reported that in October, Jones was released from the Fulton County Jail for "time served" and the status of other charges were nolle prosequi (unwilling to prosecute) and dead docketed.

At that time, the Sheriff's Office was never notified the Jones was to remain in jail. Later, acording to Flanagan, a bench warrant was issued for his arrest and the Sheriff's Fugitive Unit started the hunt for Jones.

He will remain in jail and will stand trial for his offenses.
