CUMMING, Ga. -- Authorities in Forsyth County are investigating an apparent murder-suicide.
According to the sheriff's office, 65-year-old John Vitkow shot and killed his 66-year-old wife, Nancy Lee Vitkow, and then turned the gun on himself shortly before 10 p.m. Monday.
Forsyth County Sheriff's spokeswoman Karleen Chalker said Vitkow called 911 told the dispatcher he had killed his wife at their Stonehill Drive home and that he was going to kill himself.
When deputies entered the home, they found the two bodies.
During the 911 call, Vitkow indicated marital problems may have led to the murder-suicide, Chalker said.
