HAZLEHURST, Ga. -- A jury found a south Georgia man guilty in the shooting death of a 15-year-old boy.
Jurors deliberated for 90 minutes before finding 51-year-old James Carter guilty of killing Chandler Johnson in Hazlehurst.
The teen was reported missing in late September, and authorities found his body 10 days later.
Officials say Carter was an acquaintance of the boy's mother, and claimed he accidentally shot Johnson during target practice.
Johnson's body was found in a wooded area near a church cemetery in Denton.
Carter is expected to be sentenced on Dec. 11.
