UPDATE | Reward increased for information on Athens homicide, burglary suspects

ATHENS, Ga. -- The Athens Police Department is continuing investigation of a homicide and burglary case, while searching for suspects involved.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation announced on Friday that they will contribute to any reward for information leading to an arrest from an incident that happened on Monday, November 26.

According to police, officers arrived to a burglary in progress just before midnight on Monday night at 400 Jefferson River Road. Finding forced entry into the home, police found Edward Davidson, 76, deceased from a gunshot wound. His wife, Charlotte Davidson was not injured.

Since the crime, Athens Police and the GBI have distributed over 500 flyers, held traffic checks and conducted interviews to gain information on the suspects
