ATLANTA -- Atlanta Police have launched a new investigation into the infamous House of Prayer.

It comes amid brand new allegations of physical and sexual abuse of children.

So 72 hours after such disturbing accusations, we can't help but wonder - what is happening to those children inside the church?

We contacted APD Monday and they wouldn't comment.

Meanwhile, the church's leader, a convicted child abuser himself, remains defiant.

Pastor Arthur Allen, did agree to talk with 11Alive's DeMarco Morgan.

Allen's been the pastor here at House of Prayer, for half a century.

But it was back in 2001 that Allen made national headlines when more than 40 children were removed from his church by the state for accusations of abuse.

In the end, Allen and another church member would be arrested and charged with cruelty to children for the beating of two young boys.  Allen served 2 years in prison.
