  • ATLANTA -- First it was the blue jean thefts, now Atlanta's latest crime is hair weave thefts. Atlanta Police released a surveillance video from the latest robbery at a beauty supply store in southeast Atlanta.

Two suspects wearing hoodies walked into Eden's Beauty Supply at 122 Cleveland Avenue at around 3pm on October 30, 2012. After pointing out the most expensive weaves, one of the suspects goes behind the counter and throws the female clerk to the floor.

The two robbers grabbed as many of the most expensive hair weaves as they could hold and ran out of the store. Jacquelyn Williams was in the store when it happened. "I heard a noise and I turned around and he had pushed the lady across the counter," she said.

Williams said she tried to run out of the store but a third suspect was watching the door. "There was a guy on the outside of the door holding the door so I backed all the way up in the corner," she said.

"I was just saying oh my God! Oh my God! Oh my God!" she said. The way the world is now you never know what's going to happen."

The extensions the suspects stole sold for about $150 each. Police say the robbers will either sell them on the street, the internet or to hair stylists for about half of what they are worth.

Anyone with information on the suspects is asked to call the Atlanta Police Commercial Robbery Unit at 404-546-4255 or Crime Stoppers Atlanta at 404-577-TIPS (8477).
