ATLANTA -- A former Paideia School worker is due in federal court this afternoon on child pornography charges.

The US Postal Service began investigating 51 year old Josh Ensley as part of a child pornography distribution investigation. According to a criminal complaint the investigation involved a movie production company that operated an internet site that offered DVD's of child pornography.

When agents searched Ensley's Tucker home they found DVD's that he ordered from the company, according to the complaint. They also found videos of children using the restroom.

According to the complaint: "Upon questioning, Josh Ensley admitted that he used a small camera and video-taped girls and boys in the stalls and urinals of the DeKalb County school where he worked as a maintenance man."

"Josh Ensley said he would hide the camera in a hollowed air freshener and place it by the boy's urinals and on a broom handle in the girls handicapped bathroom stall," according to the complaint.

In letter sent to parents on Thursday, school administrators said janitorial employee Josh Ensley was also charged with possessing child pornography on his home computer and is now in federal custody.

Paul Bianchi and Paul Hayward with the school said there is no evidence Ensley had any physical contact with students or posted any of their photos online. They also said no cameras were found during a search of the high school building.

Counselors have been made available to the student body and their families.

The complete letter to Paideia parents follows.

October 25, 2012

Dear Parents,

We have some very upsetting and sad news to share with you. We learned today about the arrest of a Paideia janitorial employee, Josh Ensley, who has been charged with possession of child pornographic images on his home computer. Investigators discovered this through materials he received in the mail at his home.

We also learned at the same time that Mr. Ensley had placed cameras in the boys' and girls' bathrooms in the High School Building at Paideia. We cooperated fully with the federal authorities in a search of the bathrooms today; no cameras were found. The authorities and school representatives also thoroughly searched all other bathrooms at Paideia, both in the high school and the lower schools, and no cameras were found.

Mr. Ensley, who is currently in the custody of federal authorities, is no longer employed at the School. The School was unaware of the investigation of Mr. Ensley's activities until today.

The investigators have told us that there is no evidence to suggest that Mr. Ensley had physical contact with any students or other children, and there is similarly no evidence to suggest that Mr. Ensley distributed the pictures he took to anyone else or posted them on the Internet.

It is worth noting that investigations like this can take time. We will do everything we can to act quickly and thoroughly to deal with this situation, while also acknowledging that the criminal justice system holds a different timetable in terms of the speed of the investigation. We will continue to cooperate fully with the authorities to ensure that justice is done.

The school's overriding concern is for the safety and well being of our students. We take this matter very seriously and understand that this news is as disturbing to you as it is to us. We believe the high school students will be as shocked and stunned as we are. We also understand that the entire Paideia community will have a number of questions that we will answer as the investigation continues. All of us at Paideia - teachers, counselors, and administrators - are available to you if you have questions about how this may affect your child. We will continue to share any pertinent information we receive as we find out more about this situation.

We have obtained the criminal report against John Ensley.

11Alive is posting this criminal report to inform parents of what happened, but want you to be warned of the graphic and explicit nature of the accusations in the report.

It contains graphic and detailed descriptions of the videos Ensley allegedly bought.
