  • ATLANTA -- Cecil Patrick is 11Alive's Fugitive of the Week for September 12, 2012. The 42-year-old Atlanta man is wanted by the Atlanta Police Department and the U.S. Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force. He has outstanding arrest warrants for trafficking cocaine, trafficking marijuana and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.

Patrick has been on the loose since Atlanta's APEX Unit, a specialized narcotics task force, raided his home on Ocala Avenue last December. Patrick wasn't home, but police found a large amount of cocaine, marijuana and a handgun in his home.

"He has an extensive criminal history that includes various assaults, batteries and numerous narcotics violations," said Deputy U.S. Marshal Eric Heinze. "He's basically a danger to the community or whatever community he's in."

According to the Georgia Department of Corrections website, Patrick served four years in prison after he was convicted of drug charges and aggravated assault in 1991. He served another two years in prison for a possession of cocaine conviction in 1995.

"Every time he gets out, he goes back to the same exact criminal behavior that is detrimental to a neighborhood," Heinze said.

Patrick lives in the Cascade Heights neighborhood near Atlanta Police Department's Zone 4 Precinct. Heinze said that's where he grew up and everyone there knows him. "We don't have any information that he may go outside the Atlanta area," he said.

Patrick's home on Ocala Avenue is empty and a next door neighbor said she hasn't seen him since the raid last December. "We believe he's still going back from time to time to visit old friends and associates, but we have yet to receive any substantial information on Patrick," Heinze said.

Patrick is featured on Rowson's Crime Scene as our Fugitive of the Week. If you know where he is, you can email a tip anonymously to the U.S. Marshals from a link on the site, or you can call Crime Stoppers Atlanta at 404-577-TIPS(8477).
