DOUGLAS CO., Ga. -- Jury selection begins Monday for one of the four suspects accused of murdering Bobby Tillman.

The suspect on trial is Tracen Franklin.

Franklin and the other three are accused of crashing a party in Douglasville in November of 2010 and targeting Bobby Tillman, 19, at random, without provocation, and beating him to death.

Franklin, who was also 19 at the time of the attack, faces the death penalty if he's convicted.

One of the suspects entered a guilty plea earlier this year in order to avoid the death penalty.  The other two may plead guilty later.

Bobby Tillman's mother, Monique Rivarde, told 11Alive's Jon Shirek at her home in Douglas County Sunday night that she will attend the Franklin trial:

I'm a little scared, and there's a little anxiety, but I just want justice for my son. And you know I didn't mind how long it has taken. Because I know the process, you know, it takes a while for everything to be done right. And I just appreciate Mr. [David] McDade [the District Attorney] and his office really trying to be thorough.

I'm confident that everything is being done to make sure justice is done for Bobby. No one knows the outcome of any trial.

We don't know how the outcome is going to be, but I know that God is going to make sure that justice is done.

It feels like yesterday [since I lost Bobby]. It's indescribable, the pain. You know what it feels like? It gets worse as time goes by [because Bobby has never been gone from home this long].... Bobby was my best friend. I've never been married. It's always been Bobby, my daughter Fashionee [who will be 17 in September] and myself. So for him to be away like this is very lonely. Very, very painful. And some days you just don't want to wake up. I just want to be with my son.

Justice for Bobby is Number One as far as a priority.

But, you know, this trial is not about me. I can't bring what I feel into this. This is about Bobby. He deserves justice.

I have to be strong for my son.

I miss my son with everything in me, and I hate what happened to him, he didn't deserve it, he had a bright future, and he was a good, good person. And I just want justice. So if Mr. Franklin is found guilty, then I want justice.... And I want whomever is responsible to be held responsible.
