MACON, Ga. -- A Houston County man has been sentenced to life in prison without parole for the murder of a former WMAZ-TV videographer in 2008.
A jury convicted 29-year-old Eugene Leslie of malice murder, felony murder and four other crimes in the shooting death of Jason Wade.
Leslie was also given an additional 45 years by Chief Judge George F. Nunn.
Wade was fatally shot six times at his home on Aug. 28, 2008 by Leslie, who once lived with Wade. Leslie had grown upset that he'd been kicked out of the home.
Wade worked at WMAZ-TV, 11Alive's sister station in Macon, in the late 1990s.
