HENRY Co., Ga. -- Henry County police are asking for help in indentifying the driver of a fatal hit-and-run accident.
According to Henry County Sgt. Joey Smith, Tamika Walker, 32, of Atlanta was pronounced dead Tuesday at 11:31 a.m. by Grady Hospital Officials. She died from internal injuries.
Walker and four family members were transported by ground to Grady with serious injuries.
The accident happened on Sunday, July 8 at approximately 3:30 p.m., on I-75 N near the 226 mile marker, close to the Flippen Road overpass. This is just north of the Eagles Landing exit.
Police said a dark-colored SUV struck a white Nissan Versa in the back of the car, then fled from the scene. The impact caused the Nissan to lose control and overturn, seriously injuring the driver and passengers.
Reports said the SUV has possible front right damage and may have displayed Tennessee tags, but this has not been confirmed.
Investigators ask that anyone with information contact 911 or Investigator J. Brooks with the Henry County Police Department AT (770) 288-8291. Police also encourage citizens to provide information via their Facebook page.
