MORROW, GA. -- The GBI will investigate an officer-involved shooting Saturday evening at the Sandlewood Apartments on Mount Zion Road.
Clayton County police Sgt. Tracy Jakes said officers were called to investigate a domestic disturbance and found a female with visible injuries inflicted by a firearm. Officers determined that the suspect, who had left the apartment, was also wanted by DeKalb authorities.
Armed with a warrant, the officers located the suspect and entered his apartment. Jakes said shots were fired and the suspect was wounded.
He was transported to a hospital. There is no information about his condition and police did not release his name.
No officers were hurt.
The investigation has been turned over to the GBI which is standard procedure with an officer involved shooting.
