ATLANTA -- Deante White is 11Alive's Fugitive of the Week. He's wanted by the Atlanta Police and the U.S. Marshals Counter Gang Unit. The 28-year-old has outstanding warrants for trafficking cocaine and trafficking marijuana.
White is an associate of a street gang known around the Cleveland Avenue area called "Raised on Cleveland" or "ROC Crew," according to U.S. Marshals. "They're involved in illegal narcotics distribution as well as robberies, prostitution and gambling," said Deputy Marshal Eric Heinze.
In October 2010, Atlanta Police were investigating a shooting and followed a blood trail to a home on Sunridge Avenue, not far from Cleveland Avenue. "They secured the residence and conducted a search," Heinze said. "Inside of the residence, they located a large amount of illegal narcotics and documentation belonging to Deante White." Heinze said White lived in the home.
Heinze said White is a major supplier of cocaine and marijuana for Metro Atlanta. "He's not just the individual on the street corner selling drugs; he's responsible for almost all the narcotics in that Cleveland Avenue area," he said.
"He's been on the run for over a year, and we know he's still currently in the Metro Atlanta area distributing illegal narcotics, and we'd like any information about his whereabouts," Heinze said.
Anyone with information on White is asked to call Crime Stoppers Atlanta at 404-577-TIPS (8477).
