DUNWOODY, Ga. -- Sovereign Immunity is a policy enacted by nearly every large county in Georgia, which protects them from various forms of civil action.

After a half dozen drivers in DeKalb County damaged tires and wheels due to an elevated spike on a steel plate, Commuter Dude went to bat asking the county to reimburse for driver damages.

Through an email, DeKalb County claimed ownership of the plate, but invoked Sovereign Immunity and instructed drivers to contact their own insurance carriers for financial restitution.

But Commuter Dude hasn't given up the fight. He's now investigating a lead from a viewer stating the City of Dunwoody knew about the hazard three days prior to the incidents. So, Dude is taking his case to Dunwoody trying to help these drivers get their money back.
