Wow! I'm amazed at all the love and support you all have given me since the diagnosis.
I've heard from so many cancer survivors and also many, many of you who are now newly motivated to get mammograms and self exams.
My coworkers have been wonderful with their encouraging words, humor and hope.
I have a busy week with an MRI, meeting with my surgeon and two other Dr. appointments. Maybe after the MRI the Doctors can tell me what type of size fruit the tumor resembles: grape, walnut, etc. :)
Your viewer comments are giving me a huge boost! I took time to read the nearly one thousand messages on 11Alive.com and Facebook. Here are a few of them:
"FIGHT LIKE A GIRL" (girls fight dirty and will do whatever it takes to win - lol) Laughter, even at those inappropriate times, is truly great medicine. Stay strong!
Val - You are a great example to other women and so brave for sharing your story. We all need to take better care of ourselves and be reminded that health problems happen even to "healthy" people. We wish you the best with your treatment and look forward to progress reports on your battle. Who knows how many lives you could save by sharing.
I am due for mine....Making the appt ASAP!
Val you are in my prayers! I beat that C monster, YOU can too!
I know this is heartbreaking and shocking news for you. I do have my yearly mammograms but I am not consistent with doing self breast exams. I'm like you I would have thought geez I just had my all clear Mammogram in Nov. so I should be fine.
Ways To Save has been a real game changer for 11 Alive...the best to you ..you can beat it!
Val, I have heard if you puree asparagas and take a tablespoon daily, it will help. I will be praying for you!
Okay, I did have to laugh at the Asparagus remedy. And some other cures. Thanks for all your support, from "The Girls" and me :)
